welcome to the world-famous idle working men's club

We offer a great night out whether you simply want a quiet drink, a game of snooker, bingo or enjoy one of the many acts we host.

On Saturday and Sunday evenings, 'Live' entertainment is provided for members, affiliated members and visitors. The lounge is where quiet conversation and a relaxed atmosphere is enjoyed. Downstairs we have the Games & Television Room. This is a large room housing two full-size snooker tables, free pool, dartboard, dominos and playing card facilities as well as large screen TV's for sports enthusiasts.

The humorous pun in the club's name has attracted interest from around the world. The club has benefited by granting honorary memberships to people who would not normally fit its criteria for membership. When read out the name erroneously implies that the club provides a place for 'idle' or lazy working men to drink, rather than simply being a working men's club in the village of Idle. The unique name has acquired the club a cult status around the world, with many clamouring for an official 'Idle Working Men's Pass'. Past and present honorary members include Mohammed Al Fayed, Paul Gascoigne, Uri Geller, Roger Moore, Tom O'Connor, Lester Piggot, Richard Whiteley and Michael Jackson.
